My 2 boys went to Kids cook summer program last year and had an amazing time. The best part was seeing them so proud to have designed, prepared and served the camp graduation dinner meal to me! Highly recommend this experience for any kids that watch the Food Network incessantly, like mine do!

I went to a "For the Love of Food" Camp last summer. I absolutely loved it!!! My cooking skills improved and my love of cooking increased tremendously. I hope to come back this summer for more fun & cooking!

Kids Cook! is the perfect way for children to develop team building, problem solving and communication skills to serve them well throughout their lives.

... and don't tell them, but cooking is a terrific way to improve math & reading skills while having a blast!

This year Kids Cook! has added a week specifically geared to younger children, aged 8 to 10. If you have younger kids who love to cook, this is the week for them!

A week of memorable Kids Cook! experiences for your child includes lunch (except for Pastry Week), snacks, drinks, & all supplies.

Children prepare their own lunches or desserts, so you don't have to!

2010 SUMMER COOKING CAMP SCHEDULE

HOW TO THINK LIKE A CHEF INTERNATIONAL
For all kids aged 11 - 17

If ethnic foods have your name on them then this is the class for you! We'll be making Italian homemade pasta and sauces; Chinese cold noodles and sesame sauce, chicken & broccoli, egg rolls and fortune cookies; Mexican gazpacho,tacos with homemade tortillas and caramel flan; Japanese rolled sushi with all sorts of delicious cooked ingredients, seaweed salad and green tea ice cream; and French onion soup, quiche Lorraine, filled crepes, and chocolate mousse.

If you love the TV show "Chopped!" then you'll love being a part of it!! Every day we'll break into different teams, each team will get a mystery basket filled with the same mystery ingredients ~ and you know the drill!! We'll be preparing an appetizer, a main course and a dessert each day and Chef Diane and her assistant will be the Chopped Judges!

Your child must have strong basic cooking skills, be able to think on his/her feet, be culinarily motivated and be excited about cooking without recipes for this week.

Kids Cook! cooking programs let kids have fun and eat well, develop or hone their cooking skills, experiment in the kitchen, improve math and reading skills in a fun way, expand their culinary palate, and learn skills to last a lifetime!

Kids Cook! Students preparing Graduation Dinner for friends & Family

ALL CAMPERS MUST BE DRESSED IN KITCHEN SAFE CLOTHING - LONG PANTS, SHIRTS WITH SLEEVES, SOCKS, &
ESPECIALLY NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS.
ALL CAMPERS RECEIVE THEIR OWN KIDS COOK! APRONS TO KEEP.

Due to general differences in maturity and social development between boys and girls, exceptions are usually not made to our age policy.

If you have an autistic child, please be sure to let us know at the time of registration. To ensure your child, as well as all the other children in the group, get the full attention he or she deserves, we want to be sure we have no more than one special needs child per session.
To that end, we also require that each autistic or special needs camper be accompanied by a full-time aide or assistant.

Cancellation Policy: If it is necessary for a camper's reservation to be cancelled for personal reasons or because of a change in family plans, For the Love of Food must be informed in writing by April 15, 2010. After that date, refunds will be made only if a replacement can be made for that session. Any change of session within 4 weeks of registration is subject to a $35.00 change of session fee. If the change of session request comes more than a month after registration, the change of session fee will be $55.00. And/or if the session change comes after May 15, 2010, and the spot cannot be filled, you will be required to pay for the full week. If the spot can be filled, you will still be responsible for the change of session fee.
