Our Wine and Beer Dinners began as an outgrowth of our
International Culture & Cuisine classes but have taken on
a life of their own!  Please note Wine/Beer Dinners and Food 'n' Film Dinners run longer than our other cooking classes and are over usually by 11:30 PM

Come join old friends, and new friends alike and share in a fun-filled evening of great cooking, fabulous food & wine, lots of laughter... A genuinely memorable evening!

Each Wine Dinner begins by getting to know your fellow cooks/diners over snacks and gab.  Then it's off to prepare a 4 or 5-course dinner, specific to that evening's country or region.  When we, at long last, convene in the dining room ~ having been seduced by those tantalizing aromas ~ each course of our meal will be perfectly paired with a  wine from the same country.

Chocolat, the mythical story of a chocolate maker, Vianne, with Mayan roots who is destined to wander from place to place. When she takes up residence in an uptight French Catholic village in 1959, the magic of her ancient art brings the inhabitants newfound joy and romance. Chocolat is a modern-day fable  about the restorative power of food that raises the splendors of hot fudge to a level of art worthy of an exhibition at the BMA.

Join Juliette Binoche, Johnny Depp, Judi Dench and us as we prepare a lavish feast laced with chocolate from start to finish ~
Spinach & Walnut Salad with Pears & Cacao Nib Vinaigrette
Pan Roasted Jumbo Scallops with Shallots, Port Wine & Chocolate
Chocolate & Chili Marinated Flank Steak
Roasted Butternut Squash with Pancetta & Cacao Nibs
Followed by the piece de resistance, a sumptuous and wholly indulgent chocolate dessert buffet to include ~
Chipotle Spiked Molten Bittersweet Chocolate Cakes
Chocolate Valencienne Mousse with Chocolate Dipped Orange Peel
Luscious Chocolate Dipped Dark Chocolate Caramels with Almonds
Nibbly Chocolate Sablees,
and
Vianne's Peppered Hot Chocolate  

And of course, Dick Bosstick, our Wine Master will match each course with perfect French wines and provide you with entertaining oeno-knowledge.

If warm winds, sea breezes, good wines, plentiful garlic and fabulous food make your heart beat just a little faster, join us for an evening of incredible foods and wines from the toe, heel and sole of the boot of Italy.

The Southernmost and often sadly overlooked regions of Italy ~ Calabria, Abruzzo, Basilicatta, Puglia, and of course, Sicily offer up some of the most exotic, varied, earthy, and altogether extraordinary cuisine in all of Italy.  With their endless olive groves, abundant seafood, almost limitless coastline and a cuisine influenced not just by their blazing sun, by the Moors, Spaniards, Arabs, and others who made Sicily their home over the centuries.

It’s no wonder we are having such a hard time limiting this feast to a mere 6 or 7 courses!  But we’ll be starting with an incredible Eggplant Caponata with a Crown of Bittersweet Chocolate from Calabria, and indulging in all manner of olives, seafood, mushrooms, meats, vegetables, sweets – “from now until the finale” – of course, with each course matched perfectly with its  complimentary Southern Italian wines.
