Interactive Wine or Beer Dinners

Wine, Beer and Food n Film DinnersOur Wine and Beer Dinners combine a hands-on cooking class with fascinating factoids about wine or beer pairings and history, followed by a sit down casual meal where you enjoy the delicious meal you just created. A highly social multi-course meal paired with specially selected wines or beer expanding culinary universes.

Please note that our weekend Wine/Beer Dinners and Food 'n' Film Dinners include four to six courses, more complex recipes, and substantial socializing, so they  run longer than our other cooking classes and can last as late as midnight
.

Our most popular Wine Dinner of the year 
~ and for good reason!  What could possibly be better than spending a delightful,  evening with the one you love, surrounded by champagne, chocolate and flowers, cooking - and then eating - a wonderful meal together? Upon your arrival, you and your Valentines Day Wine Dinner - Passion Platesweetheart are greeted with a glass of champagne, infused with hibiscus syrup and raspberries.

This year's  meal is
Cherry Gazpacho; Goat Cheese, Dried Cherry & Bittersweet Chocolate Ravioli in a Ginger Beurre Blanc; Pan Seared Duck Breasts in a Caramel Wine Sauce and Grilled Fruits; Roasted Potatoes Parisienne;  Sauteed Brussels Sprouts; and a decadently rich chocolate souffle with Chambord spiked vanilla ice cream, balsamic strawberries, and our signature rose sugar cookies.

You bring your honey, we'll provide everything else for a romantic & memorable Valentine's Day!

AN EVENING IN BARCELONA ~ A Tapas Wine Dinner

Friday, March 16th                      $95 per person       $175 per couple

Think of the tango, the flamenco, the fabulous colors and electric energy of the streets, and it's no wonder Spain and her food are currently in the enviable place where France was 10, 20, 30 years ago.  The most creative and cutting edge flavors in Europe are coming out of Spain now, and we're going to take advantage of that tonight with an assortment of tapas, or 'small plates' which are traditionally eaten in bars before supper, which in Spain is eaten around 10 PM.

Among my favorites, and I'm sure they'll soon be yours, are
Chorizo in Red Wine; Gambas al Alcaparrah (Honey Caper Grilled Shrimp); Queso Frito (Goat Cheese & Ham Fritters); Almejas con Aceita de Oliva, Jamon y Pinones (Clams in Olive Oil with Ham & Pine Nuts; Ensalta con Frutas Secas (Green Salad with Apricots & Hazelnuts); and for dessert, something delicious but quite unusual, Caramelized Goat Cheese with Diced Peaches in Jumilla Syrup.

Foods and Wines of Southern Italy
Friday, March 30th               $95 per person              $175 per couple

Millions of immigrants from Southern Italy flooded our shores at the turn of the last century and brought their foods with them - what we've now come to think of as 'typical' Italian food; pizza, eggplant parmigiana, manicotti, and other dishes with red sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.
But Southern Italian food is so much more than that, and tonight we'll be introducing you to some of Southern Italian cuisine's finer points.

We had a very hard time deciding whether to serve soup or pasta at this meal, since Southern Italians would never serve both at the same meal, regardless of how light the soup.  Since we're in the midst of winter, we opted for the soup.  We hope you agree... Chicken Liver Mousse with Marsala & Sage; Chicken Soup with Pumpkin, Escarole & Marsala; Sea Bass with Fennel Puree & Green Olives; Potato & Sweet Pepper Gatto; and for dessert, something very unorthodox, but traditionally Southern Italian, Baked Apples with Pine Nuts, Raisins & White Wine, with Sweetened Mascarpone.
  A bon gusto!



Cancellation Policy:  If you must cancel a cooking class we will give you credit for another class, as long as you cancel up to one week before the class is scheduled.  A class may be rescheduled only once.

If you cancel up to 72 hours' before the class, we will give you credit for another class within this upcoming year.  If cancellation occurs less than 72 hours prior to class, credit can be given only if we are able to rebook your space in the class.  We're sorry, if you call us after missing a class date, we can not offer you  a credit or make-up. 

We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment with three days' notice. In this case, any prepaid class may be used for  another upcoming cooking class or reimbursement will be made.
